Days of Doctors

We have had two days of doctors appointments. Tuesday, we were finally able to go to the Lili Claire Foundation. We have been on their waiting list for over a year! We had to do so much paperwork, and get every medical record or evaluation that Dyl has ever had. Dr. Frickie is a neurological and developmental specialist, and the only one in Nevada. Needless to say, it was a lot of work, but I think it was way worth it. We were there for about four hours, and it was really tiring for Dyaln. But he did a fantastic job. He did really well on the cognitive puzzle solving skills. He was scoring at a sixth grade level. Not bad for a four year old. We go back to get the results on July 25Th. It is a long wait, but I think they will be able to help us figure out Dylan better.

This is the statue they have outside of their building.

Today, Dylan had to go get his kindergarten shots. Kind of weird, since he has another year before kindergarten, but the program he is in requires it. He was so brave. After the doctor checked him out, he said: "Mom, when are we going to see the real doctor, so he can get my sick off?" Hopefully, the doctor wasn't offended by that. The nurse promised him two suckers if he was brave during the shots, so of course, Livie wanted two as well. When Dylan started crying during the shots, Livie started sobbing. I thought she was sad for her brother, but when I asked her what was wrong, she told me that she just needed her suckers.

Jon has gone out of town until Sunday to build a shed for his parents. Livie was devastated to tell him goodbye, and was only soothed with a promise of a cookie and the movie Snow White. Tonight when we were saying our family prayers, Dylan pointed out that we only made a triangle. He got really sad and said that we couldn't make a diamond without daddy here. Then during his prayer, he prayed that daddy would come home and make our diamond. (Jon, if you are reading this, I promise it is not meant to make you feel guilty for abandoning us, ha ha ha.)

I know my daughter is almost always in Dylan's old jammies, but for some reason when she picks out her jammies at night, those are the first ones she goes for.

6th grade level- that's AMAZING! Sounds like a full day- you're AMAZING! I think Livie looks great in those jammies!

Yeah for Dylan! He is so lucky to have a mom like you. Oh and don't worry Sammy is always wearing Nicholas old jammies.

We should go swimming at my parents house sometime.

Dylan sounds like a great kid, he is very cute too! I hope everything goes well with the results, but one thing he for sure has going for him is great parents who will do anything to help him. I look at my two cousins that have dissabilites and I often think if they had any other parent they would not be where they are today because my aunt and uncle would do anything and have done almost everything for them, so Dylan is very lucky!
